UPDATE: Wife and child killed in house fire in central Bakersfield

UPDATE (12:43 pm): Bakersfield Fire Department said the victims were an elderly woman in her sixties and a child was killed in the fire.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Two people were killed in a house fire in downtown Bakersfield on Thursday.

The fire occurred in a house on 32nd Street near San Dimas Street. Neighbors say two people died. Although local officials have not yet confirmed who died in the fire, neighbors say a couple lived there in their sixties and that the woman was disabled.
