UPDATE: The outage in East Bakersfield only affects 276 customers

UPDATE (9:00 a.m.): The outage now only affects 275 customers from 8:41 a.m. PG&E has not yet established an estimated recovery time. The outage began at 5 a.m. on Thursday. According to PG&E, the failure was caused by a device problem.

UPDATE (7:40 am): According to PG&E, the failure was caused by a device problem. There’s no recovery time yet, but just over 800 customers are affected as of 7:21 am

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – At 5 a.m., more than 2,200 customers in East Bakersfield are without power.

Pacific Gas & Electric Company has not yet provided a recovery time or the cause of the failure, but the electricity company is investigating.

The traffic lights are north of the Edison Highway to Kern Canyon Road.
