UPDATE: Man killed in Central Bakersfield shootout

UPDATE (9:26 am): A man was killed in a shootout near the Hampton Inn, according to BPD.

The department said around 7:35 a.m., officials were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of an ongoing shooting. When the officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other shooting victims were found, said BPD.

There is currently no suspicious information. According to the ministry, there is currently no search for a vehicle related to the shootings.

At the time, BPD said it was unclear whether the victim stayed at the Hampton Inn. The hotel was not locked because of the shooting.
