UPDATE: Man, 2 children wounded in drive-by gunshots in downtown Bakersfield

TO UPDATE: The Bakersfield Police Department said an investigation found that a vehicle occupied by a 35-year-old black woman, a 20-year-old man, and three children, ages 3, 5, and 9, was involved in a drive-by Shot was hit by gunshots.

The department said the vehicle was leaving Highway 58 heading east at the South H Street exit when it stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, a dark SUV pulled up to the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle and an occupant opened fire.

The man was wounded in the shooting along with the 3-year-old and the 9-year-old, according to the BPD. You have been taken to a local hospital for treatment for minor to moderate injuries and are expected to survive.
