UPDATE (6/3): A 38-year-old man from Bakersfield was killed in the crash last night, according to the CHP.
The department said the Mazda 5 driver was driving north on I-5 on Grapevine Road when the vehicle pulled out of the lane and overturned for reasons unknown. The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the spot.
An 18-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and sought help herself, the CHP said.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – CHP is investigating a fatal collision on Grapevine Road just off Interstate 5 in Fort Tejon Wednesday night.
According to the CHP traffic information site, the collision was reported on Grapevine Road shortly after 9:30 p.m.
According to the CHP, a blue Mazda came off the lanes heading north and at least one person was killed.
The northbound entry and exit of Grapevine Road reopened just before midnight.
