UPDATE: According to CAL Fire, progress on the 50 acre Wolves Fire southwest of Bakersfield has been halted

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Kern County firefighters have halted progress on a 50-acre bushfire burning on Goldcrest Street south of Highway 166, CAL Fire said.

The fire known as the wolf fire was reported on Thursday afternoon. CAL Fire said the fire was at the end of Goldcrest Street, about 45 miles southwest of Bakersfield. Alert Wildfire cameras showed smoke from the fire in the area around 1:30 p.m.

The fire was 75% contained.
