The Thunderdome Restaurant Group – the team behind restaurants like The Eagle, Pepp & Dolores and Maplewood Kitchen and Bar – is hosting a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic at their Taqueria Bakersfield in Over-the-Rhine.

Working with Mercy Health, the clinic will focus on vaccinating Thunderdome employees as well as other hospitality workers in the area.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, April 19, medical staff will be handing out 300 Pfizer vaccines. Anyone who signs up and receives their first shot will also be given an appointment to receive their second shot. The Pfizer COVID vaccine takes two doses about 21 days apart.

“We naturally understand the challenges hospitality and restaurant workers faced during the pandemic and know it was a chess game when it comes to securing vaccine appointments,” said Joe Lanni, co-founder of Thunderdome, in a press release . “We really wanted to find a way to make it as easy and convenient as possible for our team members and neighboring restaurant workers to get vaccinated.”

Thunderdome says it is helping distribution through Hamilton County’s “Get Out the Vax” effort to vaccinate 80% of the population by July 4th.

“We’re proud to offer all of our Cincinnati employees and the rest of the Cincinnati hospitality community the opportunity to get vaccinated on the job,” said Lanni. “If we fill all available dates and there is interest, we will have the opportunity to offer this again in the future.”

Thunderdome employees and other hospitality workers in the area can sign up for the April 19 vaccine popup at signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4aaeae2da3fec52-covid.

Bakersfield is located at 1213 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine.
