The missing Bakersfield man was killed, the coroner says

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – The man arrested after a semi-trailer stopped his escape during a high-speed chase in southern California has been sent to Kern County Jail.

Michael Caleb Reed faces multiple charges, including first degree murder. He was taken to Bakersfield Prison from Los Angeles County just after midnight on Monday. KCSO confirms that Reed’s arrest is linked to the March 28 shooting of Michael Lewis in Oildale, and the department says the investigation is ongoing.
