BAKERSFIELD, California – The Bakersfield Innovation Lab, a The Hub of Bakersfield program, is accepting applications for its second grade to help make downtown Bakersfield a more desirable place to live, work and be.
“We know there are people all over Bakersfield who love this city and see our downtown area grow and thrive,” said Kaitlyn Yates, chair of the program. “We invite anyone interested in being part of the exciting growth in our city to apply and join others who are just as passionate as you are.”
For 2020, participants in the four-month program will meet and interview the city’s stakeholders and active innovators, and work together in a team environment to develop and implement a list of successful projects and ideas.
Participants will also visit places that “do it right” or “do it better”.
The cost of the program is $ 500. The obligation for participants is to meet twice a month for four months and see program projects from start to finish.
Applications are due by August 31st. Interviews are scheduled shortly thereafter. The selected innovators start the program in mid-September and end in December.
