The 14-year-old boy is injured while shooting in South Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, California – A 14-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after a shooting in South Bakersfield Sunday night.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:11 p.m. on the 2000 block on White Lane.

A BPD press release said the suspect fired multiple shots at a group in a parking lot when the boy was hit by two bullets.

The boy was not part of this group and, according to the BPD, appeared to be inadvertently beaten.

The suspect fled in a dark vehicle. No further information about the suspect is currently available.
