Suspect arrested in South Bakersfield final week in reference to homicide | information

Police have arrested a man believed to be linked to an alleged murder in South Bakersfield last week.

39-year-old Lucifer Darnell Pierce was arrested by the Bakersfield Police Department for allegedly shooting Mubarek Saleh Alnajar, 30, in a press release, BPD said.

The victim’s body was found in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 1718 Panama Lane on the evening of January 13, according to a report from the Kern County Coroner Office.

Police arrested the suspect on Wednesday morning. According to BPD, Pierce resisted arrest and was in possession of a loaded firearm.

Officials used minor violence to detain him and he has been sent to Kern County Prison on charges of murder and suspended sentence, BPD said.
