Bakersfield, California 2021-05-30 13:57:00 –
Having already exceeded the target of 3,000 pairs of usable shoes, the Guaranteed Shoe Center has extended the 29th annual shoe campaign for our homeless shoe campaign until Wednesday in order to collect even more.
“Our goal was 3,000 pairs of drive shoes,” said guarantee president Rosco Ronic in a press release. “We have exceeded that and are approaching 3,500 couples!”
Donations help the men, women and children at the Bakersfield Homeless Center. This drive has produced more than 85,000 pairs of shoes in 28 years.
You can take your shoes to a store on 21st and Chester Avenues in downtown Bakersfield or KGET-17 on 22nd and L Streets.
Sponsors include the Bakersfield Homeless Center, Capital Dental, KGET-17, Telemundo, and Galbraith North America, which invites donations in Bakersfield Californian.
