March 5, 1959 – March 9, 2021
Dennis Bolender lost his battle with cancer on March 9th, four days after he was 62. What kind of man he was; loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. It leaves a hole in many lives.
Dennis was a mechanic, a MacGyver type, when it came to getting things going. Stubborn! He couldn’t be told that something couldn’t be done; he would find a way. He laughed quickly, loved his family dearly, and shared his skills generously, always ready to help friends, family, and even strangers. Dennis graduated from Lynn’s Valley School in Glennville and was a member of the 1977 North High School Class. After graduation, he worked in the service department of Three-Way Chevrolet and then moved to other dealerships. He was a co-owner of TGIF Automotive and then worked as a mechanic for Valley Cycle. Dennis later moved to County of Kern Fleet Services and worked his way up to General Services Manager.
Dennis loved the shop, but he especially loved the outdoors. An avid hunter, fisherman and camper; all far from the city. The mountains and forests were his happy places.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Shirley Bolender. He left a loving family; Mrs. Megan; Son Ethan Howard and wife Megan; Grandson, baby Leon; Brother Clinton Bolender and his wife Rachel; Brother Charles Bolender; Nephew Bryce and his wife Heather and son Bryce Jr. Also loved by three stepchildren, Charlotte, Michael, and Christian.
The family is holding a celebration of Dennis’s life on Saturday, March 20. Please contact the morgue for more information.
