BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – A northern California family who headed to every In-N-Out burger location stopped in Bakersfield Wednesday night to celebrate the opening of the Rosedale Highway restaurant.
Sam Vonderheide and his children Berkeley and Emery of Templeton said their goal was to visit every In-N-Out location within a year. You have visited 313 so far, including the one on Rosedale Highway which is the 362nd location. According to data company ScrapeHero, there are a total of 365 In-N-Out burger locations. This was the first time the family had waited overnight for a grand opening. They have visited almost every location in California, 39 in Texas, 32 in Arizona, 16 in Nevada, and 10 in Utah.
Sam Vonderheide said the family holidays are every summer but this year’s plans have been canceled due to the pandemic. His son Berkeley jokingly suggested visiting every In-N-Out, but Sam loved the idea so much that he decided to make it happen.
“We tested many secret menu items on this trip because we had many opportunities to do so. [There’s] not much to lose when it is you [going to] If you visit 20 In-N-Outs in one day, you can also just try out a few crazy new things, ”said Sam Vonderheide when asked about his favorite menu items.
