New bitwise location in Bakersfield accepted

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) – Bitwise Industries received approval for a new location here in Bakersfield and they thought of not just the where but also the who when they started settling here.

At 23ABC Live, Amy Thelen, Vice President of Bitwise, speaks about the interest in Kern County Entrepreneurs and the new location.

In June 2019, Bitwise Industries announced plans to expand into Bakersfield. Since that announcement, Bitwise has secured a location and upgraded tenants to bring Bitwise Training to Kern County.

Bitwise Industries gave a presentation to the board of directors highlighting its ambition to invest in entrepreneurs here in Kern County.

During its presentation, the company announced that its first group of students will begin a training program in June.

The positions will be “Learn and Earn Opportunities,” which means that participants will be paid while in the program.

The county is working with Bitwise to provide each student in the program with a grant of up to $ 7,500 for their own start-up idea.
