BAKERSFIELD, California – Mayor Karen Goh and Alderman Andrae Gonzales attended our second annual 23ABC Bakersfield Baby Shower this morning!
Gonzalez helped kick off our baby shower by bringing a brand new car seat to donate, and Mayor Goh brought a set of diapers to donate.
“Just piles and piles of all kinds of supplies, diapers, car chairs, whatever babies need, and let’s do that all over again,” said Mayor Goh. : We want to do the same for Bakersfield this year. “
These donations will benefit the Kern County Mission and the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center.
Some of the items we would like to donate include:
- Diapers: Newborn sizes – 5
- Clothing: Premium – 12 months; used very gently OK
- New car seats
- New bottles
“People are in real need. These are needs we may not all think about all the time, but especially when you have parents who are so loving and caring and hopeful for their own child and they are trying to do that,” she said to Gonzalez.
From the first baby shower last year, both Kern County Mission and Bakersfield Baby Shower received a plethora of items that could hold babies for six months.
