Popular Filipino fast food chain Jollibee recently opened its first location in Delano, California as part of its North American expansion plans for 2021.
The Delano location is on Woollomes Ave. It opened on December 20th.
This year, fast food giant North America will add 28 floors, 19 in the US and nine in Canada to meet its goal of 300 stores by 2024.
The closest Kern County site is in Bakersfield on the Stockdale Highway. Although a date has not yet been announced, reports say this spring is the destination.
Other popular jollibee favorites include jolly spaghetti and peach mango pie, which give customers a taste of the Philippines.
Although the pandemic has created challenges across the restaurant industry, focusing on off-premise channels alongside dine-in has enabled Jollibee to persevere. At the start of the pandemic, the brand encouraged its customers to experience the joy of Jollibee from the comfort and safety of their own home by pre-picking them up, taking them out, and driving them through. By April, Jollibee announced the launch of its nationwide delivery service through DoorDash.
“We have remained nimble and optimistic, which has led Jollibee to buck expectations and see double-digit sales growth in North America in an extremely difficult year,” said Maribeth Dela Cruz, president of Jollibee Group North America, Philippine Brands, previously in a statement. “Make no mistake, we would not survive these difficult times without the support of our customers.”
Last December, locations also opened in San Antonio, Texas, Mira Mesa, California and downtown Toronto. (AJPress)
