Fire damaged olive orchard in southwest Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – An olive orchard in southwest Bakersfield was damaged after cooking oil caught fire and ignited trash.

The fire was limited to the 1701 New Stine Road restaurant and the total damage was estimated at $ 55,000, according to the Bakersfield Fire Department.

The fire was reported at 3:10 a.m. on Monday and the scene was evacuated about two hours later. It is still being investigated.
