BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – California Aeronautical University and the Golden Age Flight Museum are working together to conduct a flyover over Bakersfield on Friday in honor of Flag Day.
The flyover is scheduled to take off from Meadows Field Airport at noon. The last stop on the overpass route is Panorama Park in northeast Bakersfield. The flyover leads to the annual flag ceremony on Monday at Greenlawn Cemetery.
The university will sponsor the museum’s aircraft on the flyover, which includes a 1944 Convair BT-13 aircraft trainer from WWII. The aircraft is considered a piece of history as it was one of the most popular aircraft by American pilots during World War II.
