Brody Roa returns to Bakersfield on May 8th

Three weeks after his win at California’s Country Music Capital, the town of Bakersfield, Brody Roa returns to town this Saturday evening, May 8th, for his first 2021 win in the USAC / CRA Sprint Car Series achieve.

Roa’s most recent win in the city of Kern County came at an open comp 360 show on the dirt track at Kern County Raceway Park. This Saturday, he’ll be across town from what calls itself “The West’s Fastest 1/3 Mile High Banked Clay Oval,” Bakersfield Speedway. It will be the only on-track appearance of the year for the 17-year-old USAC / CRA series, and it will be Roa’s first race at the much larger Perris Auto Speedway since April 24th.

Although he left the main event in Perris two weeks ago in the fifth round, Roa comes fourth in the USAC / CRA championship on Saturday. He is only 19 points from third and 69 points behind the leader, more than three quarters of the remainder of the season.

The best result in the USAC / CRA series for the Garden Grove, California driver at Bakersfield Speedway in recent seasons came in 2017 when he finished second in the Main Event. Two years ago, when locals affectionately referred to him as the “Okie Bowl” on his last appearance on the track, he was in second place when hit from behind and knocked out of the 30-round final.
