BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) – Cal State University in Bakersfield is home to not only a campus, but a vaccination center as well. When it became known that this website had higher vaccine supplies than patients, people from Southern California traveled to Bakersfield to reconcile their place.
Today 23ABC spoke to Dina Madden with Kaiser Permanente about the influx of people at the CSUB vaccination site.
The CSUB vaccination center previously announced to 23ABC that they are able to vaccinate thousands more people who have shown up. Now that they accept walk-ins, anyone over the age of 16 cannot be admitted. Additional positions will be filled by people who live in places where they may not already be eligible for the vaccine.
