Bakersfield Police are looking for reinforcements

Bakersfield, CA (KERO) – Bakersfield police are trying to recruit people.

This is for the cadet unit formerly known as the Explorer. This is a program designed to get people to watch law enforcement, regardless of whether or not they are in a law enforcement career.

The next event starts on Saturday, June 5th at 8:00 a.m. and another session will take place at 11:00 a.m. The league is located at 301 E. 4th Street.

This is a voluntary youth program and there are some general entrance exam requirements. Applicants must be at least 14 1/2 (high school) to 20 years old. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (“C” or higher in each class). Applicants are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs. The applicant must not have been convicted of a crime. Applicants under the age of 18 require parental consent and support.
