Bakersfield plans pop-up rubbish assortment occasions for Saturday | information

The City of Bakersfield is holding free bulky waste drop-off events this Saturday to give the public more opportunities to dispose of large items.

The events take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The locations are the Aera Park parking lots on Jewetta Ave. 100 and the Mechanics Bank Arena on Truxtun Ave. 1001 through the entrance in the back parking lot on N Street.

Regular household items that will not fit in a light brown cart, as well as regular recyclables that will not fit the blue cart, including cardboard, paper, plastic containers, glass bottles, and metal, are accepted.

Hazardous waste, construction or demolition materials will not be accepted.

The city is asking individuals to separate brown and blue cars prior to their arrival to aid through traffic. Residents are expected to unload their items themselves. Face masks are requested, along with social distancing.
