Bakersfield Hearth Division publishes statistics on their busy 2020

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Firefighters in Bakersfield answer the call daily for a variety of reasons. The department released data showing the number of times they’ve been asked to save lives and protect property in 2020.

The Bakersfield Fire Department responded to 574 fires over the past year. These include house, building, automobile and brush fires with an average of almost 48 fires per month.

Four people are said to have been killed and 20 injured across the city. According to the city, the damage from fires amounted to more than $ 15 million.
