Bakersfield flower seller attacked, product destroyed by suspects

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KFSN) – Video posted on social media showed an attack on a street vendor in Bakersfield.

The man was selling flowers over the weekend when someone started destroying their products before hitting him, KERO-TV reported.

Witnesses say several people tried to evict the attacker, but he kept coming back.

The seller informed KERO-TV through a translator that the incident was a money problem.

“He said it was nothing new. Usually people stand there asking and asking for money. And (the suspect) literally walked up to him and told him to ‘get the f out of here, it’s my place,'” “said the translator .

Community members are banding together this week to raise funds to help the seller stay home and recover from his injuries.

So far, they have raised more than $ 9,000.
