Bakersfield Fireplace Crews rescue two homes in southwest Bakersfield after a storage catches hearth

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – According to the Bakersfield Fire Department, two homes in southwest Bakersfield were damaged Friday morning after a garage caught fire.

The fire occurred around 7:20 am in a house on Silver Birch Avenue, a neighborhood near Gosford and Harris Streets. Bakersfield Fire said the fire started in the garage of one house and spread to a neighboring house. The crews were able to extinguish the fire before it spread widely.

According to firefighters, no one was injured.
