BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Bakersfield Boys & Girls Club receives a helping hand in the form of a donation from No Kid Hungry California.
The organization is granting the club a $ 45,000 grant to continue efforts to improve food access by providing equipment and food supplies for food rides, catering services, and other related programs. The grant can also be used to increase work capacity.
No Kid Hungry announced a total of $ 1.8 million in donations to schools and nonprofits across the state.
“Without the time and commitment of these hungry heroes, millions of children across California would not have access to the healthy foods they need to thrive,” said Kathy Saile, director of No Kid Hungry California. “We pride ourselves on continuing to support their hard work through these grants and deepening their stories of hard work and engagement. No child hunger will ever be grateful for all the work these volunteers and organizations have done. ”
