Arrested 2 in Tulare County, accused of shooting death in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – A man and woman arrested in Tulare County are charged with killing a man at Bakersfield’s Rosedale Inn this weekend.

Corey Fisher, 31, died Sunday evening after being shot in the motel parking lot. According to BPD, Fisher was seen arguing with a man before the suspect drew a gun and fired and then drove off with a woman in a dark limo.

According to Bakersfield Police, 28-year-old Gary Jennings and 33-year-old Lisa Sharer were taken into custody in connection with the Tulare case on Thursday. Jennings was sent to Kern County Prison for murder, a criminal in possession of a firearm and parole. Sharer has been sent to Kern County Jail for murder, the department said.

Fisher was a father of four from Michigan. His sister-in-law told 17 News that he was in town to visit friends, and thanks to donations from the ward, the family can pay to have him brought home for a church service. According to GoFundMe, any other donations or remaining funds for his four daughters will be split into savings bonds.
