BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – The ward gathered this afternoon to honor the life of Patricia Alatorre, known as “Bakersfield’s Daughter.”
Yesterday was Alatorre’s 14th birthday before her life was tragically cut short. Alatorre is the young girl investigators believe was kidnapped and murdered by a man who allegedly drove from Inglewood to Bakersfield to meet her after connecting on social media.
The birthday celebration took place in downtown Bakersfield on a mural honoring Alatorre. Thee Next Steps organized the birthday party to show that we can bring healing through community engagement.
